9.3.2016: Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is appointed by Sun Pharma as the brand ambassador for Revital H. The company conducted a consumer research and chosen MS Dhoni as a brand ambassador on popular choice. The company shortly will shoot a new ad campaign featuring the new brand ambassador. The ad campaign is expected to go live throughout the upcoming T20 world cup.

Pranab Mukherjee Presents Nari Shakti Awards 2015

9.3.2016: Honorable president of India Pranab Mukherjee conferred Nari Shakti awards 2015 to fifteen women on the occasion of International women’s day. Five organizations also received the awards. Union Ministry of Women and Child Development give these annual awards for those who contributed for empowerment of women. The awards carry cash prize of two lakhs and a certificate for the institutions and one lakh rupees and a certificate for individuals. Haryana state received the Nari Shakti award for its efforts to improve child sex ration and sex ratio at birth. An Anganwadipuram Gram Panchayat in Kerala also received the award for women empowerment.

Maria Sharapova Banned from Tennis due to Failed Drug Test

9.3.2016: Russian Tennis Player Maria Sharapova is banned from Tennis after it is revealed that she used a substance that was banned in January. Sharapova accepted that is took a drug prescribed for angina and heart failure, Meldonium. She took complete responsibility for taking the drug. International Tennis Federation Banned the Meldonium drug in January this year. Sharapova took the drug since 2006 for health reasons, it is said.

World’s Tallest Jain Statue in Maharashtra Enters Guinness World Records

9.3.2016: 108 feet idol of first Teerthankara entered the Guinness book of world records as the tallest Jain statue in the world. The 57 feet Lord Bahubali idol in Shravnabelogaola in Karnataka was the tallest Jain statue in the world till now. The 108 feet idol is located in Mangi Tungi mountain in North Maharashtra district. The idol is carved out of a single rock. It was consecrated in February in a ceremony followed by rituals for several days.
