Balbir Singh Chauhan Appointed the Chairman of 21st Law Commission of India

11.3.2016: Balbir Singh Chauhan, the retired judge of Supreme Court, who is now the chairman of the Cauvery River Water Disputer Tribunal, is appointed union government of India as the Chairman of 21st Law commission of India. The post was vacant since September 2015. He served as the judge of Supreme Court from 2009 to 2014. Law Commission of India was constituted to give recommendations on review of Indian Penal Code.

Kangana Ranaut is the Brand Ambassador of Reebok India

11.3.2016: Bollywood actress and national award winner is announced as the brand ambassador of Reebok India. A new campaign for the brand was also launched and is titled Be More Human. The new ad campaign aims to inspire women, says the company. It was launched on the eve of International Women’s Day.

Sunil Shirguppai Appointed the Vice President, Engineering by Ola

11.3.2016: Ola announced the appointment of Sunil Shirguppi as the vice president, Engineering. Prior to this he was the vice president at The Goldman Sachs. The company said that ‘Sunil will be working towards enhancing capabilities in Data Science and Machine Learning’. He will work in areas such as data platform capabilities.

Irani Cup Lifted by Rest of India Team

11.3.2016: Rest of India Team lifted the Irani Cup. They won the cup by defeating the Mumbai team in the final. Mumbai set a target of 480 runs which was successfully chased by Rest of India Team this is the 26th time that Rest of India won the cup since it was commenced in 1959-60. The tournament is played between Rest of India and the winner of Ranji Trophy. Irani Cup was named after Z R Irani.

Amar Bahadur, Former Indian Footballer Passed Away

11.3.2016: Former Indian Footballer Amar Bahadur Gurung passed away in Gurgaon. He was 73. The player won a bronze medal in 1970 Asian Games which were held in Bangkok. He won 22 caps in his career.
