BMW launched MINI Cooper S for Rs. 34.6 lakhs – 2.0L Turbo charged engine with 6 Speed AT sprints 100 kmph in 6.7 Sec

The Bavarian automotive giant BMW has introduced the new Cooper S in the Indian market. New edition of the power packed hatchback is a lot similar to the previous edition but the former is slightly smaller in size comparatively. BMW is offering the brand new 3 Door MINI Cooper S for just Rs. 34.65 lakhs only.

2015 MINI Cooper S measures around 3821 mm of length, 1727 mm of width and 1414 mm of height respectively. These measurements are 98 mm, 7 mm and 44 mm greater than the measurements of previous version hatchback. The wheel base of the new Cooper S is around 2495 mm which is around 28 mm longer than that of the former edition. Former edition of the hatch back offered just 160 litres of boot space whereas the new edition hatchback offers around 211 litres boot volume. The rear row of seats can be folded whenever needed and the boot space becomes more than 730 litres with these seats folded. The manufacturer is offering 11 exterior colour choices for Indian buyers along with the wide range of accessories for the exterior body.

16 inch full alloy wheels are offered with the new Cooper S and BMW is also offering Indian buyers with an opportunity to customize wheels of their MINI Cooper S unit. All trims of the new Cooper S hatchback come powered with a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo charged petrol engine that is capable of generating around 189 hp power at the peak along with 280 nm of torque. Engine comes mated to a six speed automatic transmission gear box by default and there is not going to be any other transmission option for Indian buyers currently. BMW has claimed that the new Cooper S is capable of attaining 100 kmph speed from rest within just around 6.7 seconds and the top speed of the hatchback is around 233 kmph. 2015 MINI Cooper S assures around 15.7 kmpl mileage on an average, as certified by ARAI.
