Bihari 2015 Puraskar for Poet Bhagwati Lal Vyas

3.3.2016: Bhagwati Lal Vyas is chosen for 2015 Bihar Puraskar for his poems Katha Sun Aawe Hai Sabad. A six member committee selected him for this award. Bihari Puraskar is given by KK Birla Foundation. It was instituted in the year 1991. It is named after Bihari Lal Chaube, the famous Hindi poet. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. One lakh and a citation. Bhagwati Lal Vyas wrote some other popular books such as Suraj Leelti Ghatiyan, Shatabdi Niruttar, Footpath par Chiriya Nachti Hai and others. Dr Vyas was born in 1941.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Appoints Akito Tachibana as MD

3.3.2016: Toyota announced the appointment of Akito Tachibana as managing director. He will succeed Naomi Ishil. He is heading quality assurance function, technical and purchases at Toyota Kirloskar. He will take his new responsibility in April this year. He served the company in Thailand, Vietnam and US also.

Nivruti Rai Appointed by Intel as India Site GM

3.3.2016: Intel appointed Nivruti Rai as the India site manager. She will replace Kumud Srinivasan. Rai is serving Intel since more than twenty years. She is presently the vice president and director of research and design in Intel Corporation. Nivruti Rai is a master’s degree holder in science from Lucknow University and also done MD from Oregon State University.


Martin Crowe, Former New Zealand Captain Passed Away

3.3.2016: Cricketer Martin Crowe, the former captain of New Zealand passed away. He was 53. Crowe was suffering from cancer. He breathed his last in Auckland. Crowe’s cricket career spanned thirteen years and he played a total of 77 tests and 143 one day matches. He scored more than five thousand runs in tests and his test score average is 45.36. He scored 4704 runs in 143 one day international matches and his average in these matches is 38.55. His highest score in one day international matches is 107 runs. He scored seventeen centuries. He was born in 1962 and made first class debut at 17.
