Jacob Tsimerman won the SASTRA Ramanujan Prize 2015

27.9.2015: Jacob Tsmierman is chosen for SASTRA Ramanujan prize for the year 2015. He is Mathematician at University of Toronto. He is serving as an assistant professor in the university and is conducting research in number theory. The award will be presented to him at International Conference on Number theory at SASTRA university in Tamilnadu. The award was founded in 2005 and is given every year to a young mathematician.

Pankaj Advani wins IBSF World Billiard Championship Title

27.9.2015: Pankaj Advani, cueist from India won the IBSF world billiards championship. This is the 14th world title for him. He defeated Singapore’s Peter Gilchrist by 1168 points. Incidentally he lost the point format final to Peter Gilchrist a week ago.

Abhinav Bindra wins Gold at Asian Air Gun Championships

27.9.2015: Abhinav Bindra clinched the gold medal in men’s 10 m Air rifle Event of Asian Air Gun Championships. Abhinav Bindra won a gold medal in the same event in 2008 Olympics. Bronze medalist in the same event in 2012 was Gagan Narang who could not finish on the podium at the present event.

Mercedes Driver Lewis Hamilton won 2015 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix Title

27.9.2015: Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes racing driver won the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix title. The final race was held in Mie Prefecture, Japan. In the second position was Nicro Rosberg of Germany and Sebastian Vettel was in the third position. This is the eight title won the Lewis Hamilton in this season. Hamilton is the highest race winner than any other British driver.

27th September Observed as World Tourism Day

27.9.2015: 27th September every year is observed as world tourism day. The theme of 2015 tourism day was “One Billion Tourists, one Billion Opportunities. The official celebration is hosted by Burkina Faso. The day is observed in the world to create awareness of tourism and cultural, social and economic value. The day was first celebrated in the year 1980. The decision to celebrate the day was made by United Nations World Tourism Organization in 1979.
