Andhra pradesh new capital is named Amavarathi

02.04.2015: Indian origin Singaporean nurse Dr Subhadra Devi Rani is named for the prestigious International Achievement Award by Florence Nightingale International Foundation of International Council of Nurses. She will receive the award on 21st June this year in Seoul. She is named for her work in healthcare sector of women and refugees. The award was introduced in 1999.

Justice Sunil Kumar Sinha is new Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court

02.05.2015: Justice Sunil Kumar Sinha is appointed the chief justice of Sikkim High Court. He was appointed by President Pranab Mukherjee. Sunil Kumar Sinha was serving as acting Chief Justice of Sikkim high court since 2014.

Hindi Poet Kailash Vajpeyi Passed Away

02.04.2015: Sahitya Academy Award winner Kailash Vajpeyi died at the age of 79 years in New Delhi due to cardiac arrest. He is survived by wife and a daughter. His popular words are Sufinama, Sankrant, Dehant se Hatkar, Rajdhani and so on. He also wrote Naya Rashtrageet which was banned.

Sir Richard Hadlee Medal for New Zealand Captain Brendon McCullum

02.04.2015: Sir Richard Hadlee medal is awarded to New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum. This is the country’s highest cricketing honor. McCullum led the New Zealand cricket team that reached the finals of World Cup 2015 for the first time. The team lost of Australia but won many fans.

Andhra Pradesh Government Officially Announced its New Capital Name

02.04.2015: Andhra Pradesh cabinet approved the name of Amaravathi for its new capital. Amarvathi is on the banks of river Krishna and the name is derived from Amareswara temple which is situated in the village. In Sanskrit Amaravathi means city of Gods or Abode of Immortals. Lord Indra’s capital is also named Amaravathi.

Harvard University will open its office in Mumbai

02.04.2015: Harvard University is going to open its office in Mumbai as soon as it gets approval from Indian government. An office for School of Public Health will be opened.

Reserve Bank of India celebrating 80th Anniversary Today

02.04.2015: Reserve Bank of India is celebrated its 80th Anniversary on Aril 1. It was established in 1935 and the first governor of RBI was Sir Osborne Smith who served from April 1st 1935 to June 30, 1937. Presently Raghuram Rajan is serving as governor since 4th September, 2013.
