Nirbhay Sharma Sworn-in as Mizoram Governor

27.05.2015: Nirbhay Sharma, retired Lt. General was sworn-in as the governor of Mizoram.  He was the governor of Arunachal Pradesh and was appointed and transferred to Mizoram by President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.  High court judge justice T Vaiphei, Guwahati delivered oath of office at the sworn-in ceremony held at Raja Bhawan Durbar Hall.

Manabi Bandopdhyay is the First Transgender College Principal in India

27.05.2015: Manabi Bandopadhyay, a transgender belonging to Bengal is going to become the principal of a woman’s college. She will take charge as the principal of Krishnagar Women’s college in Nadia, West Bengal next month.  Manabi published ObManab, the first transgender magazine in India in 1995.

27.05.2015: Forbes released the annual list of World’s most powerful women which is topped by German chancellor Angela Merkel. ICICI bank head Chanda Kochchar, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Shobhana Bhatia and SBI chief Arundhati Bhattacharya are among the hundred women in the list.

Lance Naik Nand Ram and Raju Joseph Named Posthumously for UN Dag Hammarskjold Medal

27.05.2015: Two Indians Nand ram and Raju Joseph were posthumously named for the prestigious United National Dag Hammarskjold Medal.  Raju Joseph was with the UN Mission in South Sudan and Nand Ram Served the UNO Stabilization Mission in Democratic Republic of the Congo. The medals will be awarded on 29th May on International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers.

Trevor Bayliss Appointed as Head Coach of England Cricket Team

27.05.2015: Trevor Bayliss, 52 is appointed as the head coach of England cricket team.  He replaced Peter Moores.  He is the first Australian to coach England cricket players.  He led Sri Lanka team earlier.  He also coached Australia for T20 series, Sydney Sixers and also Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL.

CS Santosh Presented with 2014 FMSCI Motorsport Man of the Year award

27.05.2015: Indian off road racer CS Santosh is presented with the Motorsport Man of the year Award. The award was presented to Santosh by Gautam Singhania, MD of Raymond Group at 2014 Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India in Bengaluru.  The award carried 2 lakh rupees and a rolling trophy.
