India takes on Bangladesh at Melbourne – second knock out match today in World Cup 2015 : India appears confident of victory

India won World Cup twice. Bangladesh made entry into Quarter Finals first time in World Cup tourney. India won all the matches in group stage and stood at top position of Pool B whereas Bangladesh won just 3 matches and worked hard to reach knockout stage. There is no doubt that India is very much stronger than Bangladesh and in any way India could ease its victory based on earlier records. Let’s see how far this could happen or any chance of wonders. Only India has got such an easy opponent in Knockout stage. But Bangla heroes might fight well with self confidence of entering into Quarter Finals for the first time. Most dangerous is the thought of fighting whether you win or lose.

Melbourne: In 2007, India lost to Bangladesh and it was a bad remark for cricket fans. India which has entered into tourney as favourite sailed home first facing big defeat from Bangladesh. Hence this time, Dhoni’s team would not take Bangladesh as easy opponent. Indian team would definitely show its hunger blow on it. Bangladesh has won against England in Group stage. New Zealand too struggled to win against Bangladesh. Therefore Bangladesh can give shock to mighty teams any time. So it can play independent innings without any pressure. On the other side, India wants to storm into Semi Finals in its own style.

India Vs Bangladesh

Strengths – Weaknesses: For India, batting is the strongest plus point. Five out of seven batsment are in good form. Dhawan and Rahane as openers, Dhoni & Raina in middle order play key role in every match. Virat has excellent track records against Bangladesh. However India should take care of safeguarding wickets in early overs. Else match against Zimbabwe might be repeated today. Bangladesh is also strong in batting.

Indian bowlers face more challenge today against Bangladesh because Bangladesh is not good at bowling this time. Shami & Umesh have to play key role in the match. If Mohit has done justice to middle overs, match could be India’s easily. Spinners Ashwin and Jadeja would have control run rate and take wickets in parallel. Bangla bowler Rubel who has taken 5 wickets against India in his first ODI is looking dangerous. Taskin and Shakib are key bowlers for it.

Match begins at 09:00 in Star Sports.
