India made easy win over Ireland : Dhawan and Ashwin powered the match : India stands top till now recording all victories – World Cup 2015
Off course it is not such a great news for Indians since they have habituated to the string of victories offered by Indian team. Anyhow, India beat Ireland today at Hamilton by 8 wickets in hand. With good spirit, India made easy win. Bowlers and Batsmen have showed good performance for their roles. India has been continuing with successive wins in World Cup 2015 till now. Even though Ireland has played decent innings, its game plan doesn’t work before India.
Hamilton: India is now confirmed to the top position of Pool B, taking one more winning feather in World Cup 2015. With 10 out of 10, India takes royal dignity now. Superb expert in decision making – Dhoni, daring openers, consistent young middle order batsmen, stable bowlers and surprising all-rounders have made all this success for India possible. India has easily defeated Ireland. Off course match was not completely one sided. Ireland has shown decent performance. In fact, Ireland proved to be a fit team for Quarter Finals.
Ireland batted first and made 259 runs all out in 49 overs. Openers Porterfield with 67 runs and Stirling with 42 runs in 41 balls gave superb contribution. Both laid a partnership of 89 runs for no wicket. Brien played master innings of 75 runs in 75 balls. Ireland’s batting spirit ended with Brien. No other player played well. Ireland was packed up for 49 overs only. Ireland could set target of 259 runs only. Ashwin and Shami bowled well. Shami took 3 wickets while Ashwin took 2 wickets giving less runs.
India chased the target quite easily. Off course ease has been made through superb opening only. Rohit and Dhawan have stealed the show today. Dhawan hit century with beautiful shots. Dhawan hit 100 runs in 85 balls (11 fours & 5 sixes) while Rohit hit 64 runs in 66 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Rest of the target is finished simply by Kohli and Rahane easily. Chasing has been made comfortable with such a beautiful innings from openers only. Ireland bowlers’ efforts are wasted.
