Host Nation Australia has shown play of its level on home ground. Finally it is Sri Lanka which has become pathetic victim. Off course Sri Lanka has shown impressive chase but could not withhold the power of Australia. Young punk Maxwell scored superb and sudden century – fastest by an Australian so far. The young punk has been the only man with five supporting half centuries so far in World Cup 2015. Australia won by 64 runs.

Sydney: In Pool A of World Cup 2015, Australia made superb victory against Sri Lanka on Sunday. On this holiday, audience got good entertainment from the match. Both teams have impressed in batting and bowling. Australia batted first and made massive score of 376 runs in 50 over for 9 wickets. Major damage has been already done to Sri Lanka in first innings itself. Openers Finch and Warner have not contributed well this time. But its middle order batsmen who have very good foundation for such a big score.

Maxwell hit 102 runs in just 53 balls with 10 fours & 4 sixes. Watson with 67 runs in 41 balls has supported well to the Maxwell. Finally, Ausis has made such a big score of 376 runs for 9 wickets.

Sri Lanka has impressed with its chasing innings. Off course no other team would have shown such a good fighting spirit except Sri Lanka. Dilshan and Sangakkara played beautiful innings together. For first wicket they made partnership of 130 runs.Dilshan hit 62 runs in 60 balls and Sangakkara hit century – 104 runs in 107 balls. Its Australian bowler Faulkner who have broken them. Mathews and Chandimal tried with good shots in the middle order but could not succeed. When the match was on two sides, Watson taken key wicket of Chandimall and snatched the match. Finally Sri Lanka was packed by Ausis bowlers for 312 runs in 46.2 overs.
