11.1.2016: Hindi poet Balkrishna Garg is honoured with Harikrishna Devsare Baalsahitya Award. He was given the award for his collection of poems Baa Geet. He received the award from Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, president of Sahitya Akademi and Baldeo Bhai Rsharma, Chairman of National Book Trust.

Ashish Saraj is the new Vice-president of Airbus India

11.1.2016: Airbus India announced the appointment of Ashish Saraf as vice president. He will be responsible for Make in India initiative of the Airbus Group India. The group is targeting $2 billion sourcing in the coming five years.

Ravindra Kalia, Hindi Writer is No More

11.1.2016: Noted Hindi writer, well known for his works such as Ghalib Chutti Sharab and Nau Saal Chotti Patni breathed his last in New Delhi. He was suffering from liver cirrhosis. He also worked as editor of magazines such as Naya Gyanodaya. Ravindra Kalia was born in 1938 in Punjab. He was honoured with many awards such as UP Lohia award, UP Sahitya Bhushan and Premchand Memorial Award.

David Bowie, British Singer Passed Away

11.1.2016: British singer David Bowie passed away at the age of 69. He was suffering from cancer since one and half month. David Bowie was born in the year 1947 in United Kingdom. His career spanned for more than forty years. He was the most influential music artiste of his time. He is survived by wife and two sons.

Chennai Open Title 2016 Won by Stanislas Wawrinka

10.1.2016: Chennai open title 2016 is won by Stanislas Wawrinka. He won the title by defeating Croatian Boma Coric. The final match is played at the Nungambakkam Tennis Stadium of Chennai. This is the fourth Chennai title for Swiss player. He won the title for the third consecutive time. The award money is 75700 US dollars.

World Hindi Day Celebrated on 10th January

10.1.2016: Tenth January is celebrated as World Hindi Day. The day is being observed since 2006. Special events were conducted on the 11th world Hindi day by ministry of external affairs and Department of official language. World Hindi Day is in celebrated in addition to National Hindi Divas that is observed on 14th September.
