8.9.2015: Government of India appointed Professor Ramesh Chand as the full time member of NITI Aayog. He is presently serving as the Director of National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research. He was also the member of task force on agriculture development under NITI Aayog. Other full time members of NITI Aayog are Aravind Panagariya, Bibek Debroy and VK Saraswat.

Anirban Lahiri Qualified for President Cup

8.9.2015: Anirban Lahiri, qualified for the President Cup. He is the first Indian golfer to achieve this. He will participate in International Team in 2015 Champions that are scheduled to be held at Incheon in South Korea from 2nd October to 4th October.

Deepak Lather won Gold at Youth Commonwealth Games

8.9.2015: India won the second gold medal in weightlifting at Youth Commonwealth Games. Deepak Lather won the gold medal in the 62 kg category. The first gold medal was won by Jamjang Deru in the 56 kg category. India sent a team of 25 Athletes to the fifth Youth Commonwealth Games in eight disciplines.

Apurvi Chandela Wins Silver at ISSF World Cup Final

8.9.2015: Apurvi Chandela won silver medal in ISSF World cup Final. She won the medal in women’s 10m air rifle event. Apurvi Chandela is from Jaipur and is aged 22 years. The gold medal was won by Ahmade Elaheh who belongs to Iran.

E-Pragati Project Launched by Andhra Pradesh Government

8.9.2015: Andhra Pradesh government launched AP State Enterprise Architecture e-Pragati project. All the government services are brought under one roof under this project. 745 government services offered by 33 departments and 300 government agencies are aimed to bring together. Objective of the project is to provide citizen centric, effective and transparence governance.

BSNL Broadband Free Speed Upgrade to 2 MBPS

8.9.2015: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited will upgrade the broadband speed for all its existing customers to minimum 2 MBPS. This will come to effect from 1st October. All the 512 Kbps plans and 1 MBPS plans will be upgraded to two Mbps. This will benefit not only the new customers but also the existing customers of BSNL.
