Ranil Wickremesinghe, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Coming to India on First Official tour

6.9.2015: Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is coming to India on his first official overseas tour.  He will reach India on September 14 and will be here till 16th September.  He will have talks with prime minster Narendra Modi, Sushma Swaraj and also President Pranab Mukherjee.

Bollywood Music Composer Adesh Shrivastava Passed Away

6.9.2015: Bollywood music composer Aadesh Shrivastava breathed in his last in a hospital away in Mumbai.  The music director is only 49 and was suffering from cancer since few years.  He worked for more than 100 films. He was a composer, singer and few of his hit movies for which he composed music are chalte chalte, babul, Rajneeti, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Baghban.

Vikas Krishna Wins Silver at Asian Championships

6.8.2015: Vikas Krishna, the Indian boxer won a silver medal at Asian Championships in Bangkok. Other Indian who won bronze medals are L Devendro Singh, Shiva Thapa and Satish Kumar.  Six Indian were qualified for World Championships that will be held next month. Those who perform well at World Championships will be qualified for Olympics next year.

Shane Watson Retired from Test Cricket

6.9.2015: Shane Watson, Australian All rounder retired from test cricket.  The player announced his retirement from this form of cricket.  Shane Watson scored 3,731 runs in 59 tests and he took 75 wickets in his career.

Apurvi Chandela Wins Air Rifle Event at ISSF World Cup

6.9.2015: Indian shooter Apurvi Chandela won the women’s 10 m Air Rifle event at ISSF world cup. The gold medal was won by Ahmade Elaheh of Iran and Andrea Arsovic of Serbia.  The shooter is already qualified for Rio Olympics by winning a bronze medal at ISSF World Cup in Korea this April.

India observed Teachers Day on September 5

6.9.2015: India observes September 5 as teachers day every year. This day is the birthday of first vice president and second president of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.  He served India as president from 1962 to 1967.  He was born in Thiruttani.  He was a statesman and a great philosopher.
