Jagdeep Grewal is the First Female Postmaster of Sacramento
11.9.2015: Indian American Jagdeep Grewal is sworn in the postmaster of Sacramento city in California. She is the first woman postmaster of the city after a span of 166 years. Grewal is 57 years old and she will oversee 1004 employees. These employees deliver mail on 537 city routes and also 94 rural routes. Grewal joined US postal service in 1988. She was a window clerk first and then became the manager.
Ramaswamy R Iyer Passed Away
11.9.2015: Water policy expert Ramaswamy R Iyer passed away in New Delhi. He was 86 and the reason for his death was severe bout of viral fever. He served as honorary research professor at centre for policy research. He was also the Secretary of Water Resources in central government. The first national water policy was drafted in 1987 in which he was instrumental. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2014.
G K Chatrath Veteran Congress Leader Passed Away
11.9.2015: G K Chatrat, veteran congress leader died of brief illness. He was the senator of Punjab University for decades. The leader was elected as MLA from Batala in 1980.he also served as chairman of Punjab congress disciplinary action committee. Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Punjab congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa and the deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal condoled the death of the leader.
Actor John P.Connell Passed Away
11.9.2015: John P Connell died at the age of 91 in Woodland Hills. He was born in Philadelphia. He served as radio operator and waist gunner aboard during World War II. he worked in many live TV broadcasts.
New Google Mobile Wallet Android Play Launched in US
11.9.2015: Google launched a new mobile wallet Android Play in US. Google announced the official launching of it. Android Play will replace Google Wallet as primary NFC based payment system. the users of Android Pay can use the wallet to make contactless payments. It works with Discover, MasterCard, American Express Card and so on. it will work at more than one million businesses in US that include Best Buy, Walgreens and McDonalds.
