Abhishek Verma Won Gold Medal in Archery World Cup

16.8.2015: Abhishek Verma who won silver medal in Asian Games now won a gold medal at Archery World Cup. The games are held in Wroclaw in Poland. He defeated Esmaeil Ebadi of Iran.

Saina Nehwal Wins Silver at World Badminton Championships

16.8.2015: Saina Nehwal became the first Indian shutters to won a silver medal at prestigious World Badminton Championship tournament. She faced defending champion Carolina Marin of Spain in the finals of the tournament and lost to her.

Dronacharya Award for Five Coaches

16.8.2015: Five coaches were recommended for Dronacharya Awards 2015. These are Naval Singh (para-athletics), Anoop Singh dahiya (Wrestling), Harbans Singh (athletics), Nihar Ameen (Swimming) and swatantra Raj Singh (Boxing).

Plastic Banned in Gujarat

16.8.2015: Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel declared that plastic use in now banned in the state. The first women chief minister of the state said that the decision was taken to protect the environment and to improve cleanliness. This also helps protect the health of cattle, she said.

Kerala State Announced as Totally Digital state

16.8.2015: The chief minister of Kerala, Oommmen Chandy declared the state as totally digital. He also added that Kerala is the first state to achieve this. He announced this in his Independence Day speech. The state achieved hundred percent mobile connectivity, broadband connectivity and maximum digital banking.

Axis Bank Launched Contactless debit, Credit Card

16.8.2015: Third largest private sector bank in India, Axis bank launched the fist contactless debit, credit and multi-currency forex card. RBI has given guidelines that the contactless transactions below Rs. 2000 will be allowed to be processed without any personal identification number. It is said that sixty percent of transaction on cards are below the limit of Rs. 2,000.

Indradhanush Mission for Public Sector Banks Unveiled

16.8.2015: Union government of India unveiled Indradhanush Mission for Public sector banks. The mission was launched by union finance minister Arun jaitley. The seven shades of the mission are appointments, capitalization, framework of accountability, distressing PSBs and governance reforms and so on.
