3.8.2015: Lynn Anderson, the country singer of US passed away at the age of 67. She breathed his last in Nashville, US after a heart attack.  She won a Grammy award for Rose Garden in 1971. This singer also appeared in many television series.

Dipa Karmakar wins Bronze at Asian Gymnastics Championships

3.8.2015: Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar won bronze medal in Asian Gymnastic Championships.  The games are played at Hiroshima.  Chinese Yan Wang stood in the first place with 14,988 points. Dipa also won a bronze medal at 2014 Commonwealth games in Glasgow. Dipa is a gymnast from Agartala.

857 Porn Websites Banned in India

3.8.2015: Department of Telecommunication banned 857 adult websites in India. The websites are listed by Centre for Internet and Society.  Indian government’s this move is to protect social decency.  These sites include world popular porn sites like Xvideos, Pornhub and so on.

Flood Situation Worsens in Myanmar

3.08.2015: Twenty seven people are killed in floods in Myanmar and more thousands of houses washes away.  The government of Myanmar declared emergency as the flood situation is worsened. Authorities are struggling to rescue people.  The worst hit areas are visited by the president of Myanmar.

Snapdeal Launched e-Commerce Credit Card

3.08.2015: Snapdeal in association with HDFC bank launched a credit card in partnership with Visa.  Customers can now use this card to make payments online whenever they choose.  Snapdeal will reward customers for digital payments made using this card.

Youth Award Named After Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in Tamil Nadu

3.8.2015: The state government of Tamil Nadu instituted a youth award and named it after the former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Chief Minister of J Jayalalitha said that the Abdul Kalam award will consist of 8 gram gold and 5 lakh rupees in cash.  The award will be presented on every Independence Day for persons who excel in science, students welfare and science.  Dr Kalam’s birthday which is on October 15 will be celebrated as Youth Revival Day.
