Nexus 5 vs Nokia Lumia 1520: The Flagship wars
The Lumia 1520 will be up against the Nexus 5 when it gets launched in India. Let us have a comparative look at the specs of these phones.
New Delhi: Its festival time and people are planning to buy the latest devices on sale in the market. Every company is gearing up to launch its flagship devices and Nokia and Google are amongst two of them. The Nexus 5 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 28,999 whereas the Lumia 1520 is all set to hit the launchpad soon.With so many smartphones available, there is a need to compare some and deduce the best options. Let us have a comparative look at the Google Nexus 5 and Nokia Lumia 1520:
Built: The Google LG Nexus 5 has the following dimensions 138 x 69 x 8.6 mm and it weighs 130 grams. Where as, the Nokia Lumia 1520 has the following dimensions 163 x 85 x 8.7 mm and it weighs 209 grams.
Display: Both the devices feature capacitive IPS LCD multi touch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display size of Nexus 5 is 5 inches and that of Lumia 1520 is 6 inches.
Processor: Both the smartphones have been powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor. The processor of Nexus 5 is clocked at 2300 MHz while that of Lumia 1520 is clocked at 2200 MHz.
Operating System: Nexus 5 performs on Android 4.4 KitKat platform. On the other hand, Lumia 1520 works on Windows Phone 8 OS.
Camera: Nexus 5 offers a rear camera of 8 mega pixels with LED flash and a front facing shooter of 1.3 mega pixels. Where as, the Lumia 1520 has been loaded with a rear camera of 20 mega pixels with dual LED flash and a front facing camera of 1.2 mega pixels.
Memory: Both the devices offer 2 GB RAM. Nexus 5 comes in 16 GB and 32 GB variants. While Lumia 1520 offers internal memory of 32 GB and up to 64 GB expandable memory.
Battery: Nexus 5 comes with an embedded Li-polymer battery of 2300 mAh while the Lumia 1520 has been equipped with a non removable Li-ion battery of 3400 mAh.
Our Take: After considering the different features, my verdict is in favor of Nokia Lumia 1520. However if Android 4.4 KitKat performs better than Windows Phone 8, Nexus 5 may also prove to be a great choice.
