Nexus 5 vs iPhone 5C: Which one’s better?

Its again Android vs iOS and we compare both the devices to find out which one is the better one out of the two and which one scores more than its counterpart.

New Delhi: Google has launched the the Nexus 5 in India for Rs 28,999 for the 16GB version and Apple has launched the iPhone 5C in India for Rs 41,990 for the 16GB version. Since there are so many new smartphones available, it calls for the need to compare and determine best choices. Let us have a comparative look at the Google LG Nexus 5 and Apple iPhone 5C smartphones to see which one’s better and if the Apple offering is worth the price difference:

Built: Nexus 5 device has the following dimensions 138 x 69 x 8.6 mm and weighs 130 grams while the dimensions of iPhone 5C are 124 x 59 x 8.9 mm and it weighs 132 grams.

Display: Nexus 5 features a capacitive IPS full HD touch display of 5 inches with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. On the other hand, iPhone 5C sports a capacitive Retina display of 4 inches with 640 x 1136 pixels.

Processor: The Nexus 5 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor of 2.26 GHz while the iPhone 5C has been powered by Apple A6 dual core processor of 1.3 GHz.

Operating System: Nexus 5 works on Android 4.4 KitKat platform while the iPhone 5C functions on iOS 7.

Memory: Nexus 5 offers 2 GB RAM and internal memory of 16/ 32 GB. Where as, the iPhone 5C features 1 GB RAM ad an internal memory of 16/ 32 GB.

Camera: Nexus 5 offers a rear camera of 8 mega pixels with OIS feature and a 1.3 mega pixel front facing shooter. iPhone 5C carries a primary camera of 8 mega pixels with auto focus and LED flash along with a front facing camera of 1.9 mega pixels.

Battery: The battery of Nexus 5 is powerful enough to deliver 17 hours of talk time on 3G and standby time of 300 hours. On the other hand, iPhone 5C has been provided with a battery with the capacity sufficient to offer 10 hours of talk time on 3G and standby time of 250 hours.

Our Take: After considering all the aspects, Nexus 5 appears to be a better option. However, a lot depends on how iOS 7 and Android 4.4 KitKat perform.
