Dinesh Shrama Elected as Director of AIIB

18.1.2016: Dinesh Sharma of India is elected as one of board member of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The bank is proposed by China and Indian finance minister Arun Jaitley is the designated governor of the bank. Dinesh Sharma was representing him in the inaugural meeting where a secret ballot was held. Dinesh Sharma is presently the additional secretary of ministry of finance.

Tsai Ing-Wen is the first Female President of Taiwan

18.1.2016: Tsai Ing-Wen created record by winning the Taiwan’s presidential election and becoming the first female president. The progressive party candidate won the election by defeating Eric Chu of Kuomintang party. DPP secured fifty six percent of votes. Tsai did PhD in law at London School of Economics. She served in different positions earlier as consultant for Mainland Affairs council.

Sree Chitra Thirunal 2015 Award for T P Srinivasan

18.1.2016: Sree Chitra Thirunal 2015 award is presented to former ambassador T P Srinivasan. The award was presented to him by vice president of India Hamid Ansari. The award is presented every year to a person for public service record. T P Srinivasan is presently the vice chairman of Kerala Higher Education Council.

Ravanan is the new CEO of Mindtree

18.1.2016: Mindtree, announced the appointment Rostwo Ravanan as CEO and Krishnakumar Natarajan as the executive chairman of the company. These will come to effect from April 1 this year. Ravanan is a chartered accountant. He said he is very honored and humbled at bring named to lead the most valuable and respected IT service companies. Natarajan is going to succeed Subroto Bagchi as executive chairman who stepped down. But Subroto Bagchi will continue to on board as non executive director.

BJP Leader V Rama Rao Passed Away

18.1.2016: Veteran BJP leader V Rama Rao passed away due to illness. He was elected to state legislative council in AP for three terms, in 1966, 1972 and 1978 he also served as the governor of Sikkim. He was a lawyer and joined Jan Sangh in 1956. He also served as BJP national executive member.
