Yamaha YZF - R25 Teased – Launch on 25th March, R3 to tackle Honda CBR 300R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and KTM Duke 390

Yamaha has already amazed biking freaks by teasing the brand new YZF – R15 earlier this year and the manufacturer is likely to bring some more surprises this year. As per information from Revstation.com, Yamaha has almost finished the development of the R25, one of the most awaited performance production bikes of the year. A teaser video of the upcoming bike has been revealed by the website and most probably, Yamaha is going to launch the model officially in a week.

You can take a look at the respective teaser video here

The teaser video shows base structure of the bike which is almost similar to that of the R25 concept show cased at Tokyo Motor Show 2013 and also at the 2014 Auto Expo held at Greater Noida earlier this year. The video has also shown front fascia of a brand new scooter model which is supposed to be developed basing on the ‘Tricity’ concept of Yamaha revealed at EICMA 2013. The respective R25 concept revealed last year measured around 2000 mm in length, 720 mm in width and 1140 mm in height respectively.

Yamaha has revealed that the new YZF - R25 is going to be powered with a 250 CC liquid cooled four stroke two cylinder engine with fuel injection system. The engine is expected to deliver higher power outputs when compared with a single cylinder 250 CC engine and it is going to be accompanied with a 6 speed gear box as standard. The model is reported to be launched officially on 25th of this month and we could also expect another high performance two wheeler from Yamaha later this year. Yamaha has recently patented ‘R3’ and it is expected to be a 300 CC powered bike most probably.

Though two cylinder engines deliver higher power outputs, customers may not prefer these models due to high cost variation when compared with single cylinder engine powered models. Thus we could expect Yamaha to offer both YZF – R25 and R3 models to be offered with a single cylinder engine as well as with a two cylinder engine simultaneously. We could expect the new R25 to be available for sale by the end of the year and price could be around Rs. 2.5 lakhs to Rs. 2.75 lakhs only.
