Suzuki GW250 aka Inazuma250 launch in January,2014 – Can it beat Kawasaki Ninja 300, Pulsar, KTM Duke 200 and Honda CBR 250R?
Suzuki Motors India Ltd had a breakthrough this year in the commuter bike segment with the launch of ‘Hayate’ and Slingshot’ earlier. Both the models have earned much love from Indian buyers and they are named as some of the most efficient ‘valuable for money’ bikes in recent times. Now Suzuki has eyed the performance bikes segment of Indian market and made an announcement regarding Indian debut of the well reputed ‘GW 250’ which is also known as ‘Inazuma 250’.
The portfolio of Suzuki Motors in the Indian market has become fulfilled by the addition of the ‘Swish 125’ along with the ‘GS 150 R’. Suzuki has also updated the ‘Access 125’ recently in order to strengthen its share in the Scooter segment. As per the information, Suzuki is likely to launch the GW 250 at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo that will be held in the month of February next year. Mr. Atul Gupta, the Executive Vice President of Suzuki Motors India Ltd has stated in connection with the announcement “We are going to launch the 250 CC motorcycle next month and new products to expand our current portfolio in the upcoming Auto Expo 2014. We are equally focussing on the scooters and motorcycles”.
The brand new GW 250comes fitted with a 248 CC fuel injected parallel twin cylinder four stroke engine with liquid inter cooler. The engine is capable of generating 26 bhp at the peak along with 24.4 Nm of torque and it comes accompanied with a 6 speed manual gear box. Suzuki is going to bring the model as CKD (completely Knocked Down) kits which will be assembled at their plant located at Gurgaon. It is also reported that the launch could be few weeks earlier to the Auto Expo which means somewhere in January, 2014. There is no information about the pricing and other details of the Suzuki GW 250.
The new Suzuki GW 250 must be capable of tackling well reputed models such as Kawasaki Ninja 300, upcoming edition of Bajaj Pulsar, KTM Duke 200, Honda CBR 250R, Mahindra Mojo and etc.
