Micromax has quietly launched the Canvas Turbo Mini A200 for Rs 14,490 and Gionee had recently launched the cheapest octa-core smartphone in the country, the Elife E7 Mini for Rs 18,999. Both the Minis will be battling it out against each other to come across as a better miniature version of the respective flagships.

New Delhi: Many smartphone makers have been launching new handsets, thereby increasing the options for a potential buyer. However, excess of options may create confusion. Drawing comparisons between some top choices is an easy solution. So here is a comparative look at the Micromax Canvas A200 Mini and Gionee Elife E7 Mini:

Display: The Micromax Canvas A200 Mini features a capacitive HD touch display of 4.69 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while Gionee Elife E7 Mini carries a capacitive IPS touch display of 4.7 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Processor: Canvas A200 Mini has been equipped with a MediaTek MT6582 quad core processor of 1.3 GHz while Elife E7 Mini has been loaded with MediaTek MT6592 octa core processor of 1.7 GHz.

Software: Both the devices run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

Memory: Both the devices carry a RAM of 1 GB. Canvas A200 Mini offers internal storage space of 4 GB and up to 32 GB expandable storage option while Elife E7 Mini offers internal storage of 16 GB and no expandable storage option.

Camera: Canvas A200 Mini offers a rear camera of 8 MP with LED flash and a front facing camera of 5 MP. Elife E7 Mini features a 13MP swivel camera.

Other Features: Both the handsets are dual SIM devices and feature a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Battery: Canvas A200 Mini works on a battery of 1800 mAh while Elife E7 Mini works on a battery of 2100 mAh.

Our Take: After considering the features of the two smartphones, my verdict is in favor of Gionee Elife E7 Mini. It is a good option since it offers an octa core processor and a 13 MP swivel camera. Otherwise the two smartphones are quite alike in features and specifications.
