08.03.2014: Yale University announced that Pankaj Misra, Indian Essayist, Selected for Windham Cambell Literature Prize under nonfiction category. Candidates who were selected under the categories fiction, drama and nonfiction will be award with the cash amount of $ 1, 50,000.

08.03.2014: Amara Raja Group Vice Chairman & MD Jayadev Galla joined in TDP and he will contest from Guntur. Earlier he acted as Chief of CII AP. In the presence of Chandra Babu Naidu, Galla Aruna Kumari and his son Jayadev Galla joined into TDP.

08.03.2014: First list of Election polls of Congress released. In this list most of the candidates were new and young ones. 35 % of the candidates belong to the age under 50. First list consists of 194 persons names. Some of the candidate’s names were Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mohd Kaif, Nandan Nilekani, Ravi Kishen – Bhojpur film star, Oriya actors Bijay Mohanty & Aparajita Mohanty, etc.

International Women’s day observed

08.03.2014: Across the world, International Women’s day observed. Other name of international women’s day is Working Women’s day. United Nations celebrated this day with the theme Inspiring Change. In 1911, these celebrations were started for the first time. Clara, a German, had proposed this day. First international women’s conference held at Copenhegen. This day celebrated to remember the achievements of the women. This day is a holiday in some of the countries.
