Naidu’s Game Plan For Alliance With BJP

The TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has been able to conclude the much needed alliance with BJP and he is able to convey his message strong to the cadre and the people as well.

Hyderabad: Naidu’s capability to convince is shown to the cadre and the people once again. His attempts forge alliance with BJP received criticism from the various leaders of the party. Despite the unexpected levels of resistance, he went ahead with the alliance. He even accepted the hard bargaining by BJP for both MLA & MP seats even in Seemandhra where BJP is less powerful than TDP.

Once the alliance is concluded he could convince many of the local TDP leaders (who initially resisted alliance on the grounds that the BJP might not be able to win all those seated that the party is contesting and the local TDP leaders who have been with the party since long time would be losing an opportunity to get TDP ticket in the coming elections).

He could convince many of the dissidents ensuring that their interests would be taken care of, once the party & alliance is voted to power at state & centre respectively. Despite his best efforts, even now there is minor dissidence in the local TDP cadre.

Babu has been to communicate to people of AP as to how TDP forged alliance with BJP (whom TDP criticised as communal in 2004). His clarification to the people is containing two parts:

On the one part he is saying that the BJP’s NDA as well as TDP are planning to ensure that proper development is taking place in state as well as centre and hence this alliance is need of the hour. Naidu has been able to pass on the message that the new state of Seemandhra need lot of funds for its development (including construction of new capital post AP split) and for getting the necessary funds from centre, good terms with ruling party at centre is a pre-condition.

Naidu has been able to establish that renewal of TDP’s ties with BJP are genuine on the ground that Modi has been cleared by courts in Godhra issue and the BJP as well as NDA is well accepted all over the country and TDP can’t be left behind in accepting BJP & NDA under the PM candidature of Narendra Modi.

Naidu has been (mostly) successful in getting approval from TDP cadre and people of AP for TDP’s pre-poll alliance with BJP.
