29.01.2014: To set up World’s Largest Ultra Solar Power Project MoU was signed by 6 PSUs (Public Sector Units). Capacity of this power project is 4000 MW. This will set up in Rajasthan. It will take 7 to 8 years to complete the project. REIL (Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited) share is 3 %, SJVNL (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam) share is 16 %, Power Grid share is 16 %, SSL (Solar Energy Corporation of India) share is 16 %, SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India) share is 23%, BHEL share is 26 %.

Manmohan Singh, inaugurated National Waqf Development Corporation Limited

29.01.2014: Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, inaugurated National Waqf Development Corporation Limited (NAWADCO). This is a new Central Public sector enterprise in New Delhi. Authorised share capital of this corporation is Rs.500 crores. This corporation will work for the development of waqf properties for the community welfare. It also helps to facilitate financial resources for the development of waqf properties for community development purposes in a joint venture with Mutawallis, Union Territaory Waqf Boards and the state.

RBZ announced Indian Rupee as a Legal Tender

29.01.2014: To circulate in the country of Zimbabwe, RBZ (Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe) had announced Indian Rupee as a legal tender. Along with Indian Rupee other 3 Asian currencies also will act as legal tender in Zimbabwe. Other Asian Currencies are Australia, Japan and China. Now it is free to open accounts in Japanese Yens, Indian Rupees, Australian Dollars and Chinese Yarns in the banks of Zimbabwe.

100 dead Olive Ridley Turtles Found at the shore of Nagapattinam

29.01.2014: Since December 2013, 100 dead Olive Ridley Turtles Found at the shore of Nagapattinam. These are found by Tree Foundation. It is an NGO engaged in conservation of the sea turtle. During the same period 21 turtles were washed ashore in Pondicherry. Fishing villages received directions from Fisheries department that they need to cut their nets to free trapped turtles.
