Lava is teasing a new phone on its official website. The new handset from Lava in the Iris series is Iris X8 and the same device is listed on Flipkart for a brief period. It comes with the similar design of earlier X series smartphones such as X5 that was launched in 2014.

Mumbai: Lava Iris X8 sports 5 inch display and the resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels and the display type if HD IPS. Physical dimensions are 70.9 x 143.4 x 8.6 mm and it weighs 160 grams. It is powered by 1.4 GHz octa core processor paired with 2 GB RAM. It is provided with 16 GB internal storage. Memory can be expanded further up to 32 GB via micro SD. It comes out of the box with Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system and OS update to Android Lollipop will be available. It comes equipped with 8 megapixel camera at rear and 3 megapixel camera at front. It supports Bluetooth, 3G and WiFi connectivity. Other important features include proximity, magnetometer and ambient light sensors. Battery under the hood is 2500 mAh battery.

According to the listing on Flipkart, Lava Iris X8 will be offered in black and white color options and is priced Rs. 8,999. Since the handset is officially listed, the announcement of launching of the device is expected soon. Lava Iris X8 is going to compete with Yu Yureka smartphone.
