Tollywood Movie Aagadu Review: Mahesh Babu’s One Man Show

Sreenu Vaitla and Mahesh Babu – the combination itself is enough to create expectations. After the tremendous success of Dukudu in their combination, people were eagerly waiting for Aagadu which was in the combination of the successful director and the crazy star. The moviewas the talk of Tollywood since a few days.

Rajahmundry: Aagadu released today with huge expectactions. Mahesh acted as a disciplined police officer in the movie. Did the movie reach the expectations of the audience? Let us see.

Aagadu was produced by Anil Sunkara, Achanta Ram and Gopichand and is directed by Sreenu Vaitla. Tamannah and Mahesh played the lead roles. Mahesh is an orphan who was brought up by Rajendra Prasad, an inspector. Unfortunately Mahesh is jailed and this angers Rajendra Prasad. Maheshbecomes an encounter specialist and is transferred to a village to arrestSonu Sood.

It is a wonder why Sreenu Vaitla copies the scenes in his own earlier films. Every scene in Aagadu gives the audience the feeling that they already saw this scene. There is no dearth for entertainment in the movie but the entertainment dose is not enough to satisfy the audience. The first half of the movie is like Gabbar Singh and the second half is almost a copy of his earlier film Dukudu. However, Sreenu Vaitla mark comedy makes the audience sit in their seats.

Except for dialogue modulation, there is nothing new in the character of Mahesh babu. Dialogues are heavy and sometimes dominate the performance of the hero. As usual, Mahesh is good in fights, dance and looks. Aagadu is one man show of Mahesh. He entertained the audience by changing his voice differently. As far as fans are concerned, watching Aagadu will be a great entertainment for them.

Tamannah appeared as the love interest of Mahesh babu. The character has no scope to act and thus she ends up as a glamour doll. Sruthi Hassan appeared in a special song.

Brahmanandam’s Delhi Suri character is routine. The director wanted to utilize the craze of Brahmanandam but this time it didnot work out. The climax scene in which Brahmanandam dances is the highlight for second half.

Positive points of Aagadu are the performance of Mahesh Babu, comedy scenes and the minus points are Brahmanandam’s comedy, story, screenplay, the second half and the length of the movie.
