Aagadu: Receiving Initial Positive Response
The much hyped movie of Mahesh Babu is Aagadu that released yesterday. The movie is able to meet the audience expectations.
Hyderabad: Prince Mahesh Babu ‘s new movie Aagadu came before the audience on 19th September 2014. This movie is perhaps the movie that released with the highest expectations. Aagadu has all positive weights like action and comedy from Mahesh Babu, glamour from heroine Tamanna and additional glamour from Shruti Hasan in item song, excellent screenplay by Sreenu Vytla and also good music from Thaman. The captain Sreenu Vytla has been able to render excellent coordination work to ensure that the audience are entertained to the maximum on seeing the movie.
Releasing on over 1450 screens world-wide, the initial response for Aagadu is 2.75/5 to 3.25/5 as awarded by various sources. Compared to the hype created on the movie, the initial rankings as above are much below the expectations.
The police role performance of Mahesh Babu we have already watched in Dookudu. The director should have taken more care in moulding the role of the hero making it different from Dookudu (for which the same hero-director combination worked earlier).
During the pre-release promos, there were many rumours that the characterization and dialogues of Aagadu are looking like that of Gabbar Singh and mannerism of Mahesh are repetitive as that of Pawan Kalyan.
The initial remark by the audience about the movie indicates that the on screen chemistry between the hero and heroine could have worked out better had the director taken enough care in that aspect.
The only plus points in the movie (as given by the audience) includes the comedy performance by Mahesh Babu and energy filled item song by Shruti Hasan. Otherwise, the movie is another routine entertainer for the fans as well as general audience. Super star Krishna (father of Mahesh Babu and senior hero in TFI) still predicts that the movie is very much on its way to cross collection of Rs.100 crores world wide – which will be the first of its kind of Telugu movies.
Overall, the movie already crossed half million collections in US and the movie is expected to perform better at the box office and we have to really wait and watch if the movie is going to establish Rs.100 crores club for Telugu movies.
