Parineeti Chopra Wins Over Sonam Kapoor

In the fight at the box office Parineeti Chopra won over Sonam Kapoor.

Mumbai: The name of leading Bollywood production and distribution company i.e., Yash Raj Films added to the weight of the Parineeti Chopra’s latest movie Daawat-e-Ishq. The movie received better marks, reviews and collections on the opening day compared to that of Khoob Surat starring Sonam Kapoor in the lead role.

The Parineeti Chopra’s Daawat could get better response in view of the homely promos taken up for the movie. The lead pair in the movie travelled throughout the country and promoted the movie. The online promotion of the movie also contributed to the initial response for the movie.

As her cousin Priyanka Chopra has been able to win over competition with her Marykom, Parineeti also repeated the same success but this time it is a love genre whereas Marykom is action genre.

The melodious music by Sajid-Wajid also contributed to the success of the movie. All the audio tracks were well received by the audience. Special mention is required (in audio tracks) for contribution by Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal & Sonu Nigam. Additionally, new singers like Javed Ali etc., also gave excellent contribution to the success of the movie.

Sonam Kapoor did good job with her ‘Khoobsurat’. But her luck proved bad when the movie went for comparison with Daawat-e-Ishq. Khoobsurat is also having support of excellent performance by heroine and Pakistan actor Fawad Afzal Khan as the hero. The promo activities contributed to the film’s success.

Despite being the home production for Sonam (Khoobsurat is having her father Anil Kapoor as the producer), Sonam could have taken better care regarding behind the screen performances of many technicians. The music, for example, went for lady musician Sneha Khanwalkar. She contributed music for many action oriented films and her music for this family entertainer could not contribute as much as required for the success of the movie.

Reviews by ‘Indicine’ indicate that both the movies (Daawat-e-Ishq & Khoobsurat) did not have promising collections on the opening day. However, the fate of commercial success of the movies will be known on Saturday & Sunday being the week-end.
