30.06.2014: Liberty Medal from National Constitution Centre won by Malala Yousafzai. This centre is located in Philadelphia. Fundamental Muslim group got angered on her by writing about life under the Taliban for the BBC. Due to this she was shot dead in the head while returning from the school in Mingora. At that time she was just 15 years of age.

Plan expenditure reached to only 10.7 % as against 12.3 % during last year. Non plan spending reached to 18.3 % of the estimated budget as against 13.4 % in the same period of the last year.

3 agreements signed between China and India

As per the agreement china to set up Industrial Parks, impart training to public officials and share hydrological information during Brahmaputra floods. Hamid Ansari, Vice President of India, visited china between 26th June 2014 and 30th June 2014. Those agreements were MoU on Cooperation on Industrial Parks in India, Implementation plan for Provision of Hydrological information of the Yarlung Zangbu / Brahmaputra, River in Flood Season by China to India and MoU concerning Communication and Cooperation of Training in the area of Capacity Building of Public officials.
Mountain in Antarctica named as Mt. Sinha by United States
30.06.2014: Mountain in Antarctica named as Mt. Sinha by United States. This was done to honour an eminent Indian American Scientist Akhouri Sinha. He was recognised for his work done as an explorer in 1971-72. He had provided critical data about animal populations in Antarctica.
New Liberal Visa Policy for nationals of Afghanistan on Humanitarian grounds released by India
30.06.2014: New Liberal Visa Policy for nationals of Afghanistan on Humanitarian grounds released by India. Union Home Ministry policy had released these policies. This policy is effective from 1st July 2014. New Policy allows nationals of Afghanistan to stay in India. Besides Afghanistan nationals below 12 years or above 65 years are also granted exemption from police reporting.
