VICTORY VENKATESH LOOKING FOR VICTORY

Victory Venaktesh Waiting For Victory

Daggubati Venkatesh, with his successful movie career, became more popular as Victory Venkatesh. Now he is eagerly waiting for success.

Vijayawada: Movie Moghul D Ramanaidu started his own production house with the name ‘Suresh Productions’. The two alphabets that appear on the logo of his production house are S & P which are also read as P for Producer and S for Star. This became reality with the fact that one of Ramanaidu’s sons Suresh Babu became successful producer. Similarly his other son Venkatesh became star.

Though acted as a child artist in home production Premnagar (1971) Venkatesh started his career as main lead role with Kaliyuga Pandavulu (1986). The film had Kushboo in the female lead role and Raghavendra Rao directed the movie. This block buster ensured grand launch of Venkatesh in the movie world.

After the initial success, Venkatesh acted in many films – both home productions as well as outside moves. More and more of his films became hits and super hits. As such Venaktesh started being called as ‘Victory Venkatesh’.

His success list includes movies like Bobbili Raja, Intlo Illalu Vantintlo Priyuralu, Raja, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Brahma Putrudu, Prema, Ontari Poratam etc. He got the opportunity to work with almost all the famous directors in the industry and also all the female lead stars of that time.

This victory hero is in urgent need of success. After Chintakayala Ravi (2008) with Anushka, Venkatesh could not find reasonable success. His Namo Venkatesa (2010) with Trisha in the lead role got average talk. His movies Nagavalli, Shadow & Masala did not fare well at the box office.

The only relief for Venkatesh in his movie career during the last 4 years are his performance in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum (of Rana & Nayanatara) & Dil Raju’s mutli-starrer Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2013 movie along with Mahesh Babu).

Majority of his films happened to be remakes from other languages. Venkatesh’s movies Gemini, Gharshana, Sankranti, Eenadu, Nagavalli, Bodyguard, Masala are all remakes from other languages. These movies fared well in their original versions but the remakes did not work well for Venkatesh (except Gemini & Gharshana).

Now Venkatesh completed production of ‘Drushyam’ another remake and this time it is from Malayalam. Meena acted in the original Malayalam version as well as in the Telugu remake. Incidentally, this film is projected as Meena’s re-entry into Tollywood.

The next project of Venkatesh is Gopala Gopala sharing the screen with Power Star Pawan Kalyan. This, again, is a remake of Hindi hit movie ‘Oh My God!’.

Venkatesh is pinning high hopes on his latest projects Drushyam & Gopala Gopal.
