KTM RC390 Spotted, to be priced >Rs. 2.2 lakhs – Fights Yamaha R25, Pulsar 400SS and Honda CBR250

KTM and Bajaj’s alliance has been successful in the Indian market since the day they joined hands together. KTM’s Duke series of models have gone viral in the domestic market when compared with the rival models available for sale currently and the RC series of models which are slightly costlier than Duke, are also having an appreciable success. KTM has almost finished the development of the RC390 and few spy images revealed by an enthusiast recently confirms the same.

A paparazzo has spotted a test mule of the upcoming KTM RC 390 and respective spy images of the bike were revealed over web. As we could observe from the images, almost all components and accessories such as wing mirrors and etc are present on the model which clearly states that the model is almost ready for the production. As per the information, KTM is likely to launch the production ready version of the Rc390 officially by this Festive Season most probably. The manufacturer has displayed the model for the first time at EICMA International Bike Exhibition that was held in the month of November last year at Italy.

Apart from Rc390, the manufacturer has also show cased RC125 and RC200 at the exhibition. RC390 is going to be very similar to that of Duke 390 and most of the changes between the two models will be purely cosmetic. The upcoming RC390 is likely to get powered with the same 375 CC single cylinder liquid cooled engine that can produce around 45 PS power at the peak along with 35 NM of torque. The engine was adopted from Duke 390 but we could expect RC390 to be more efficient as it is around 8 kg lighter than the former.

The front end of the bike gets the twin head light cluster and wing mirrors with integrated turn signals. The bike also gets equipped with Day time running LEDs and twin stripe shaped tail lights on the rear. The overall weight of the KTM RC 390 is around 147 kilograms and the top speed of the model is around 180 kmph. All the RC models of KTM are around 20% costlier when compared with the Duke series models and thus we could expect the upcoming RC 390 to be offered for price not less than Rs. 2.2 lakhs mostly.
