Hero Karizma R and ZMR to go on sale challenging Yamaha R15, Honda CBR, KTM Duke, and Bajaj Pulsar 220 NS?

Hero Moto Corp has refreshed its Indian portfolio in the month of October last year and an event was also held showcasing the updated models. It has been more than six months and there is no information about the availability of the refreshed models at dealership show rooms across India. Some sources revealed that Hero has started dispatching fully built units of the refreshed Karizma R and Karizma ZMR 2014 to all dealership show rooms in South India.

Karizma is one of the prominent and well reputed performance commuter bikes in the Indian market and the new upgrades of the model are expected to give a breakthrough for Hero this year. The new Karizma R is powered with a 223 CC air cooled single cylinder four stroke engine that is capable of generating around 19.2 PS power at the peak along with 19.35Nm of torque. The power output of the model has increased by 2 PS and torque has increased by 1 NM when compared with the former edition of the model. The new Karizma R is capable of accelerating to 60 kmph from rest within just 3.6 seconds only whereas the former edition took 3.8 seconds for the same sprint.

Hero has powered the Karizma ZMR 2014 with the same 223 CC air cooled single cylinder four stroke engine producing 20 PS power at the peak along with 19.7 Nm of torque. The former edition of the model has managed to produce around 17.8 PS power and 18.35 NM torque respectively. ZMR has slightly more power output than R though both are powered with the same engine. The former gets a carburetor while ZMR gets fuel injection system and this is the reason for the difference in power output. Both the wheels are going to ger disc brakes and Hero is offering both electric and kick start with Karizma R and ZMR.
