End Of Elections & Beginning Of Resignations

MODI WAVE LEADING TO ENMASS RESIGNATIONS

End Of Elections & Beginning Of Resignations

With the marathon election schedule coming to an end with the results, there is a series of resignations started throughout the country.

New Dehi: Immediately after the results of the present general elections are declared, there is a huge jolt in the Indian polity. The remarkable victory by NDA and the heinous performance by congress led UPA are indicating many changes in the Indian polity.

While the NDA won 336 MP seats (out of total 543 seats), UPA managed success in 59 seats leaving 148 seats to others like AIADMK, All India Trinamool Congress, BJD, TRS etc.

Immediately on declaration of results, there was a huge cry for resignation of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar holding him responsible for the debacle performance of the JDU in the state. While Nitish Kuamr submitted his resignation the JDU would be meeting to select another CM candidate for the state.

After doing the maximum harm to the country during the 10 years of its rule, the UPA is submitting resignation as the alliance could get only 59 seats.

While the J&K National Conference could not win even a single MP seat in the elections, the present CM Omar Abdullah would be replaced by his father Farooq Abdullah to improve the party performance in the state. J&K National Conference is also a partner in the ruling UPA.

With the end of UPA regime, the planning commission submitted resignation.

Immediately in the queue is Maharashtra CM Pruthviraj Chavan. The congress performance in the state (in alliance with Sharad Pawar’s NCP) has been able to win just 6 out of total 48 MP seats in the state. It is rumored that Maharashtra CM would also be asked to step down by the congress high command.

The Haryana CM is also getting similar pressure to step down in view of the poor performance by congress in the state. The party won just 1 out of 10 MP seats in the state.

Despite the series of news of debacle performance by congress, there was high drama at headquarters of congress giving contradicting news about resignation of Sonia & Rahul. There was news of their proposal to resign taking responsibility for the party’s poor performance and the news also mentioned that the CWC would take required action on this issue. Immediately there was another and contradicting news mentioning that they are not resigning as the defeat is ‘collective responsibility’ of the congress leaders. Even foreign media suggested that Gandhi family should vacate the congress steering seat. The outcome is yet to be known on the resignation of Sonia & Rahul.
