Congress Still Unclear About Its Own Policies

Even the debacle performance could not congress to get itself straight. The party is still continuing its wicked political games.

New Delhi: Congress party has been famous for wicked political games without considering the needs of the people. Adopting this policy, congress ruined itself in the present elections. The party is now without any proper direction regarding plan of action for its revival. Still, the congress has not learnt from its own experiences.

The Bihar state government was formed with Nitish Kumar (belonging to Janata Dal United) as CM. The assembly elections were fought by JD U in partnership with BJP. The alliance was well accepted by the people of Bihar. Nitin got an opportunity to improve the conditions in the state.

With the BJP declaring Narendra Modi as its PM Candidate Nitish got angry with the party. Though the reports indicated that he saw this statement as an end for his plan to become the PM, he declared that NaMo is not acceptable to some sections of the society and as such the JD United strained its relations with BJP.

Since the movement Nitish declared his intention to part ways with BJP, the bad time for Nitish started. The Modi wave ensured maximum gain in Bihar also. The JD United had to content with just 2 MPs (loss of 18 from the existing strength). Taking the moral responsibility for the poor performance of the party in the state of Bihar, Nitish offered to resign. The JD United after high drama accepted his resignation and ‘elected’ JR Manjhi (suggested by Nitish) as the new CM of Bihar. Already reports are abuzz that this new CM candidate of Bihar is involved in many scams and has FIRs registered against him. Interestingly, congress supported this move.

Story of Aam Aadmi Party (in Delhi) is totally different. The Arvind Kejriwal headed AAP won 28 seats in Delhi assembly (total 70 seats). BJP became the largest party with 32 MLAs. Congress extended outside support to Kejriwal and he established AAP government in Delhi. However, within 49 days of forming the government, Kejriwal resigned and advised the Delhi LG to dissolve the assembly. The Delhi LG accepted resignation of AAP government but kept the Delhi assembly under suspended animation stage imposing president rule in the state.

Subsequently in the general elections AAP could get only 4 MP seats all over India (that too in Punjab and not in Delhi). With the above strength of 4 MPs Arvind Kejriwal is finding himself without any busy activity. He met the Delhi LG with a suggestion to initiate the action to revive the Delhi assembly. The decision of Delhi LG in this regard is still awaited.

Despite the congress’ earlier outside support, this time the party is silent on supporting Kejriwal in formation of the state government in Delhi.
