New Delhi:Google’s Nexus devices have always been a notch above the rest when it has come to performance. The tablet gets a mammoth price cut and comes across as a way better value for money device than other cheaper Indian and Chinese tablets. Let us have a look at its specifications:

  • It gets a 7 inch LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, which has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 216 ppi. It will support up to 10 fingers and features Corning Gorilla Glass on top of its for its protection.
  • Under the hood is a 1.2 GHz quad core processor based on Cortex A9 architcture which gets coupled with a 1GB RAM to offer you a pretty good processing performances.
  • It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean but you can update it to Android 4.4 KitKat as soon as it comes out of the box so there can be no issues in this regard as well.
  • It features a 1.2MP camera up front for video calling but misses out on a rear camera.
  • It will be available in 16GB and 32GB variants with absolutely no expandable storage. This makes the tablet slightly safer to viruses from expandable storage.
  • Asus has given the Nexus 7 a pretty comprehensive package for the connectivity of the tablet. It gets Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, aGPS and NFC connectivity as well which is a rarity to find in the budget tablet segment but the Nexus 7 has it all you see.
  • A 4325 mAh battery is present inside it to give the tablet the juice which is expected to last about 10 hours.

Apple has been constanly launching offers for its devices and Google needs to counter that. With the budget Nexus 7, it surely will attract a lot more customers.
