Delhi: GATE 2014 results declared. As per the announcement, results to be declared on 28th March 2014 at 10.00 AM. But results declared on the midnight of 27th March 2014. All the candidates who had written this examination checked the results. After seeing the results candidates were under great disappointment. Pass Percentage in this year of GATE is only 16.84 %. For this examination, 10, 33, 625 candidates were registered. Out of which nearly 2 lakh candidates do not appear for the examination. Only 8, 89,156 candidates had written the examination.

Number of candidates who passed this examination is 1, 49, 694. If we see based on the category wise, 1035 qualified persons were having physical disability, 4224 candidates belongs to ST, 17,085 candidates belongs to ST ; 42, 287 candidates belongs to OBC and 85, 063 candidates belongs to General category. Number of female candidates qualified in this examination was 31,431 (including all category candidates).

Examination was conducting in February / March 2014 across 660 centres in India. Of all the registered candidates 86 % of the male candidates appeared for the examination and 85 % of the female candidates appeared for this examination. GATE 2014 is All India Examination conducts to get admission in PHD/ MS / M/M Tech courses in IISC’s, IIT’s and other colleges in India. In the recent days foreign colleges were also giving admission based on the GATE examination score.

Candidates who were qualified in this examination can apply for M. Tech examination. Candidates who got top rank in this examination will get the eligibility to apply for Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Fellowship. This fellowship is awarded by CSIR. Based on the GATE 2014 scores candidates can apply for PSU companies. This examination was conducted for 100 marks. Paper of this examination consists of 65 questions.
