Elections 2014: Arvind Kejriwal Going For Opinion Taking Once Again

KEJRIWAL SEEKS PUBLIC OPINION

Elections 2014: Arvind Kejriwal Going For Opinion Taking Once Again

Arvind Kejriwal is now talking of taking opinion from people of Varanasi on his contesting against Modi.

New Delhi: With all the respect for Kejriwal’s sincerity in supporting Anna team’s fight against corruption (they demanded Jan Lokpal which they feel will work to fight corruption), as a ‘DEMO’, Delhi voters gave a chance to Kejriwal’ AAP to rule Delhi. As there was a shortage of full majority in Delhi assembly he ‘sought opinion’ from Delhi voters whether he should accept support extended by Congress. As per verdict of the people of Delhi, Kejriwal formed ministry.

Immediately after becoming CM, he started fighting with central government on issue of control over Delhi police. As a CM he had better issues to address and resolve so that citizens of Delhi are able to get better administration and civic facilities. For example, power, water, road maintenance etc., were the total local subjects. He chose to ignore those priorities and went on fighting with central government for some issue or the other.

As an initial response to his becoming CM, he allowed 50% concession on power bill (to certain categories of consumers). This is projected as one of the polls promises by AAP but the way of execution gave wrong signals. Kejriwal could have advised the power distribution companies to rationalize the power tariff and thus bring down the tariff. In contrast, the power tariff took hike after his becoming CM. He could not do anything in this regard. Regarding water, Kejriwal could do something as AAP government announced free water to certain categories of consumers.

AAP decided to introduce Jan Lokpal Bill in Delhi assembly and once that got defeated, Kejriwal met Delhi Lieutenant Governor, submitted resignation of his government and requested for dissolution of Delhi assembly. The action of Kejriwal could have incurred additional expenditure for conducting elections to Delhi assembly. There is no record whether he took opinion of Delhi voters for this. On the other hand, Delhi LG accepted the resignation but opted for President Rule.

During his initial days as CM of Delhi, Kejriwal declared that AAP would be contesting in approximately 100 MP seats. But as of 20th March, the total 9 lists released by AAP consisted of 313 MP contestants. Now Kejriwal is talking of taking of ‘opinion taking’ from Varanasi voters. This clearly shows that Kejriwal is very cleverly using the ‘opinion taking’ for implementing his ideology which is nothing but dividing BJP vote which will indirectly support congress.
