Is Aam Aadmi Happy With Kejriwal?

AAP & KEJRIWAL TO REVISE THEIR STRATEGES

Is Aam Aadmi Happy With Kejriwal?

The Aam Aadmi Party AAP has the record of forming government within the shortest duration after startup. Subsequent actions by Kejriwal are effecting the image of AAP.

New Delhi: After moving along side with Anna Hazara in fight against corruption (demanding Jan Lok pal), Kejriwal ventured into politics by starting his own party with the name Aam Aadmi Party (meaning party of common man). The main agenda of the AAP as stipulated on various platforms is to clean the corruption and symbolically the party chose to get ‘Jhaado’ as their election symbol. During that time, AAP’s plan was to concentrate mainly on Delhi. It also planned to contest in a limited way for the Lok Sabha elections as well.

In December 2013, the party contested elections for Delhi assembly and got 28 out of 70 MLA seats. After high level drama, AAP took support from congress and formed government.

Ignoring the high expectations of Delhi voters, the AAP government lived very short. Kejriwal suggested dissolution of Delhi assembly (showing cause of non clearance of Jan Lok Pal Bill in Delhi assembly). Not accepting Kejriwal’s recommendation, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi recommended to central government to keep the assembly in suspended animation stage and impose president rule in the state.

Once the Election Commission declared schedule for general elections 2014, AAP ran into poll fray and as on date declared contestants for 425 out of 543 Lok Sabha MP Seats. Kejriwal himself gave indications that he would contest against Modi in Varanasi and also that he would ensure defeat of all top leaders from other political parties (including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi etc.)

The various poll surveys are indicating the reducing influence of congress & UPA and at the same time increasing influence of BJP & NDA. Ignoring all these indications, Kejriwal is continuing to fight against BJP and Narendra Modi as well. His actions and dialogues are giving clear indication that there is a back-door understanding between AAP & congress. AAP’s contestants against congress leaders are less popular whereas AAP is giving tough fight to BJP leaders by keeping strong candidates.

As it is the image of AAP is drastically coming down and this anger can be seen from repeated personal attacks on Kejriwal during his campaigns. In a democratic country, this kind of personal attacks need to be condemned and avoided. But the fury of aam admi with AAP & Kejriwal is shown in these personal attacks.

AAP & Kejriwal need to revise their strategies so that they can do some good for the aam admi.
