Hero Extreme Sports and Dash to be launched by October this year

Hero will be launching its 150cc Xtreme Sports bike and 110cc scooter Dash by October this year.

New Delhi: Hero Motocorp, the world’s largest two wheeler manufacturer is going to be on a launch spree in 2014 with new product launches at regular intervals. The company will be launching the Splendor Pro Classic Caf Racer and Passion TR by the end of the current quarter and joining them later on will be the company’s 150cc performance bike, Xtreme Sports and the company’s 110cc scooter Dash. Both the vehicles will be launched by October this year.

Xtreme Sports

The Xtreme Sports which will be positioned as a slightly premium 150cc bike will lock horns with the likes of the Pulsar 150NS(upcoming) and the recently showcased Gixxer 155. The Xtreme Sports will be powered by a single-cylinder four stroke motor which displaces 149.2cc develops a maximum power of 15.2 BHP @ 8,500 RPM with the peak torque of 12.8 NM coming in at 6,500 RPM. It will be an air-cooled unit.

The engine will be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. It gets a hydraulic, telescopic type suspension up front and a rectangular swingarm with a 5 step adjustable gas reservoir at the rear to ensure you get comfortable ride. Helping it bring to a halt is a 240 mm disc brake up front with a 220mm disc brake coming as optional at the rear. The standard bike will come with a drum brake at the rear. Expect it to be priced around Rs 66,000-72,000 as ex-showroom, Delhi price.

Hero Dash:

The Activa challenger features a four stroke 111 cc air cooled motor under the hood and has a maximum power of 8.44 BHP @ 7,500 RPM and a peak torque of 9.4 NM @ 5,750 RPM. It gets an external fuel lid so that you don’t have to get down at every fuel station. The Integrated Braking System which is similar to the Combo-braking system will help you bring the scooter to a halt. It also has a mobile charging socket and an under-seat storage light as well which is a nice touch. Expect it to be priced around the Rs 50,000 mark.
