Nokia Lumia 1520 review: The best Lumia yet

Nokia Lumia 1520 is here and we review it to find out if it’s worth the price

New Delhi: Nokia has reintroduced itself with its Lumia range and has rocked the market. The range has become so famous that one can think of only the Lumia when one thinks of a Windows phone. Nokia however has not stopped and is always looking to add to its range. After the Lumia 1020 got introduced to the market Nokia has now launched the Nokia Lumia 1520. The 1520 seems to be more of a phablet than a phone and should give a good competition to the recently released Note 3. Let us take a look at some of the features of the phone.

The Lumia 1520 comes with a 6 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that of course has a Full HD display. The screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and has the Clear Black Display. Ensuring that the display is utilized to its full capacity the phone runs on a 2.2 GHz Quad Core processor that is ably supported by 2 GB of RAM. To say the least the phone is ‘superfast’.

On the connectivity end the phone is enabled to access 2G, 3G as well as 4G networks something expected of a phone of such high quality. The phone can also use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB connections. It is also NFC compatible making room for high speed transfers. Nokia seems to have found an attraction towards cameras something its earlier ranges were never popular of. The Lumia 1520 has a 20 megapixel rear camera with Carl-Zeiss Optics and Dual LED flash. Other features of the camera are the PureView Technology, Geo-tagging, Face detection, Panorama, Dual capture and Stereo sound recording. There is also a secondary camera which is a mere 1.2 megapixel. This might be a little disappointing but it fulfills the basic purpose of video chatting.

The 1520 has a 3400 mAh battery offering a good battery backup. Also the phone has an internal memory of 32 GB which can be extended up to 64 GB with the help of a micro-SD card.

The smartphone has hit the launcpad in India for Rs 46,999 and is available for about Rs 45,000. The device has everything you could wish for in terms of hardware and Windows Phone has actually started catching up to iOS and Android. So if you’d lay your bet on this one, we are pretty sure you won’t go wrong.
