06.01.2014: Justice Ganguly, former Supreme Court Judge, Resigns from WBHRC (West Bengal Human Rights Commission). He has been accused of sexual assault by a law intern. PIL was filed by Doctor M.Padma Narayan Singh in the Supreme Court seeking to take action against Ganguly. Supreme Court rejected the petition.

06.01.2014: 9600 Pages Charge sheet filed against Rs.5600 crore National Spot Exchange Limited Scam. This charge sheet was filled against 5 accused arrested by Economic offences wing of Mumbai. Accused persons were Company’s CFO Anjani Sinha, Vice Presidents Jay Bahukhundi and Amit Mukherjee and Borrowers Arun Sharma (Chairman of Lotus Refineries and Film financer) & Nilesh Patel (Managing Director of NK Proteins).

06.01.2014: 6 tonnes of smuggled ivory destroyed by China in Guangdong Province. Main aim of china is to protect the dwindling elephant populations. From past 6 months this is the 3rd ivory crash. Earlier 6 tonnes of ivory crashed by US Government in November 2013 and 5 tonnes of Ivory destroyed by Philippine Government in June 2013.

China to become to partner in Andhra Pradesh NIMZ proposal

06.01.2014: One of the partners of Andhra Pradesh NIMZ (National Investment and Manufacturing Zones) is China. Centres of NIMZ will be at Prakasam, Medak, Chittor districts of Andhra Pradesh. Both investment and technical support will be given by China. NIMZ project will support by both state and Central Governments. Expected investment of each NIMZ is Rs.3000 crores. Proposal of NIMZ is to increase the overall share of manufacturing in GDP of India. This was the proposal of Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 2010.

Nataraj temple of Chidambaram will be managed by Priests: Supreme Court

06.01.2014: Nataraj Temple of Chidambaram in Tamilnadu is most famous temple. This will be managed by Priests but not by the state government, order was passed by the Supreme Court. To the government this is the 1000 years old Lord Shiva Temple. Appeal was filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swami and the temple priests.
