Most of the best deals this season will start only on Thursday, including the online shopping bargains that start early Thanksgiving morning. Online deal expert and founder of deal analysis website BradDeals.com, Brad Wilson, commented that the stores are taking a big step moving their sale events to Thursday. He also says that although the events have been kicked off on Thursday since the last couple of years, none of the best deals actually started at the 6 PM and 8 PM sale events.

Analysts are also commenting that as most of the stores are staggering their sales, the annual mobs of shoppers who usually camp outside the stores before the dawn on Friday may lessen. Toys

retailer, Toys R Us will open its doors at 5 PM on Thanksgiving day, Best Buy will open at 6 PM, Target at 8 PM and Kmart at 6 AM. Also, other retailers such as Macy’s, J.C.Penney and Kohl’s will open during the Thursday hours for the first time ever. With these developments, Black Friday is actually becoming more of 6 day weekend unlike the single day, Wilson said. Walmart’s chief merchandising and market office, Duncan Mac Naughton, says that Walmart has planned its sale events early this year to keep up with the competition.

Walmart’s press release states that customers are guaranteed 21 products, 18 more than the last year, if they stand in queue during 6 to 7 PM and 8 to 9 PM Thursday shopping events. The store ensures that the customer will all receive a product, either that night or before the Christmas. Walmart also says that it will provide wristbands for shoppers who wait in queues, thus enabling the shoppers to go shop for other items. However, they need to return to pick their products within two hours of start of the sale events.
