Is Apple iPhone 5C Priced Too High for Indian Markets?

Apple recently launched iPhone 5C and 5S in India. However there are not much takers for iPhone 5C. One of the reasons for this could be the high price of the device. iPhone 5S on other side is being purchased in gold color option.

Hyderabad: Any model of iPhone from apple sells like hot cake. Introduction of iPhone and iPad changed the history of Apple. But iPhone 5C seems to be unsuccessful for Apple. iPhone 5C is released recently in India and the customer response is not very encouraging. It is informed that only ten thousand pieces are sold till date. Apple is planning to increase the sales of the handset and introduced buy back scheme for Apple 5C. As part of this offer, customers can exchange selected models of smartphone with iPhone 5c and get a discount on the purchase of the device.

The price of 5C in India is Rs. 41,900 for 16 GB model and 32 GB is going to cost Rs. 53,500. Retailers say that customers feel that the device is very expensive. In reality, the features of 5C are very good and if these features are explained customers are buying it, said the retailers. On the other hand, customers are ready to purchase 5S gold color model by spending even Rs. 1.2 lakh. Apple is getting ready to announce bundle offer with Airtel to increase sales. The company already announced bundle offer with Reliance. iPhone 5C and 5S were launched in India on November 1.

Thirty thousand units of iPhone 5S are sold in India till now. There is good demand for this device in India but supply is not meeting the demand. 5S is introduced in gold color for the first time. Apple did not expect such huge demand for gold variant worldwide. iPhone 5S is offered in space gray, gold and silver white colors. iPhone 5S 15 GB model is offered with a price tag of Rs. 53,500; 32 GB model is priced Rs. 62,500 and 64 GB model is priced Rs. 71,500. iPhone 5C is offered in blue, green, pink, yellow and white colors.
