Maruti Suzuki unveiled ‘Anniversary Edition’ Alto 800 – Will Alto go diesel next year along with A-Star?

India’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki has decided to celebrate this festival season with a bang and has unveiled an exclusive edition of India’s one of the most sold hatch back, Alto 800. The special limited edition variant has been dubbed into the market as ‘Anniversary Edition’, in order to represent that Alto 800 has completed one year in the Indian market.

Under the hood, the same 800 CC 3 cylinder engine is continued but the outer design of the model has been modified a lot. The base structure has been altered a bit and Maruti has described the new design as ‘Wave front design’ which seems much bigger than the former edition. In the advertisement, Maruti Suzuki has claimed that more than 2 lakh units of the Alto 800 have been sold in India so far and the model has won 10 prestigious awards globally. The manufacturer has added some additional features to the new Alto 800 and some of the significant changes made to the model are

Mr. Manohar Bhat, the Vice President of Marketing for Maruti Suzuki India has stated in connection with the launch of the Alto 800 Anniversary edition “Alto has been India’s favourite car since its launch. The anniversary edition is our way to celebrate success with our customers in this festive season. The new exciting package of the anniversary edition will bring joy and value to customers in this festive season”. Maruti Suzuki is offering the brand new Alto 800 Anniversary Edition with a starting price of Rs. 3.12 lakhs in India.

It has already been informed that Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch a diesel variant of the ‘A Star’ hatch back by the end of next year. Now, experts predicted that there might be room for a diesel variant of the Alto 800 too. Alto already scored record number sales in India with the petrol version alone and a diesel variant of the model would be a humongous success for the manufacturer.
