Tollywood comedian is likely to be the first member of the ‘1000 movies club’.

Sattenapalli: Born on 1st February 1956, Brahmanandam (more famous as Brahmi) started his movie career with Sritatavataram. Brahmi rose to fame with Jandhyala’s all out comedy entertainer ‘Aha Na Pellanta’. The movie gave a solid launch paid for this comedian who already completed 30 years in the film industry and is proud actor to complete 1000 movies. Brahmi is the holder of Guinness Book of World Records as the living actor to have acted in most pictures in single language.

It is not exaggeration to say that many movies are able to enjoy success with the presence of Brahmi. Despite the large quantity of movies, Brahmi is able to show variation for each of his roles and this is the secret for his success as comedian for these many movies.

Padma Sri Brahmanandam is winner of Nandi Awards for 3 movies (Money, Vinotham, Ready). Presence of Brahmi in the movie itself is publicity for the movie.

Despite being the busiest comedian, Brahmanandam also did some unusual roles that need special mention. ‘Babai Hotel’ is one such movie where his role gives comedy as well as story power to the audience.

Brahmi attempted to do main role in Jaffa. Despite the heavy comedy dose in the movie, the box office reports proved otherwise for the movie.

Despite the grand successes that Brahmi has been enjoying, there are reports about his stereo typed roles in his recent movies. In almost all the movies Brahmanandam’s character is shown as a scapegoat to elevate the hero in his stature and to ensure success for plans of lead role. We can see the similar plot (for Brahmi) in movies like Dookudu, Aagadu etc.

Brahmanandam’s working experience as lecturer in Attili is helping him a lot in dialogue delivery which is very important. Brahmanandam will be remembered for many years to come for his roles like Khan Dada (in the movie ‘Money’ starring JD Chakravarty), Ara Gundu (Aha Na Pellanta), Agni (Race Gurram) etc.

This birthday boy completing 59 years is still energetic enough to entertain the audience for many years to come through his action having different variations (of course with comedy as the basis).
