Starting his movie career (as one of the group dancers) way back in 1988 with Tamil movie Agni Nachatram, Prabhu Deva the son of famous choreographer from south Sundaram continued his journey as choreographer.

He did his first on screen appearance as male lead in the movie Kadhalan (Nagma acted as his heroine in the movie). While Prabhu Deva tasted Bollywood in 1990 with Pratibandh as choreographer his entry into Bollywood as actor could happen only in the year 2000 with his film Pukar where he had guest appearance.

After proving himself as successful director with the movie Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (starring Siddharth & Trisha in the lead roles), Prabhu Deva ventured into Bollywood as director.

As a safe bet, Prabhu Deva adopted the way of remake to establish himself as proven director in Bollywood. He did successful movies in Bollywood like Wanted (with Salman Khan & Ayesha Takia and this movie is remake of successful Telugu movie Pokiri starring Mahesh Babu & lleana). Prabhu Deva’s other movies like Rowdy Rathore, Ramayya Vastavayya also had basic version from successful Telugu movies Vikramarkudu (Raviteja & Anushka Shetty) & Nuvvostannate Nenoddantana (Siddharth & Trisha).

Though Prabhu Deva enjoyed success for remakes, his direct ventures could not give him the anticipated level of success. His subsequent directions for the movies like R… Rajkumar & Action Jackson could not continue his success graph as director of Bollywood movies.

In personal life, Prabhu Deva became sensational news item when he got himself involved in affair with Nayanatara. Their relationship continued to a stage where Prabhu Deva divorced his first wife to get himself married to Nayanatara. However, the marriage did not take place and Prabhu Deva continued his stay in Mumbai directing Bolywood movies.

Now the latest reports indicate that Prabhu Deva is interested to remake the successful movie of Ramcharan Tej’s Govindudu Andarivadele (GAV). The movie released during Dasara fray in 2014 proved to be an average movie that too coming from Krishna Vamsee, a director experienced in handling family entertainers.

Other details about the remake of GAV into Hindi are awaited.
