Prabhu Deva: Shining In Bollywood With Remakes

Prabhu Deva is the dancing diva from South. He is proving himself successful at Bollywood and majority of his directions are remakes.

Mumbai: Choreographer Prabhu Deva has been making news for his directorial ventures in Bollywood. He got recognition as excellent dancer for his many roles in movies in regional languages as well as Hindi.

After successful stint as actor, choreographer in many regional films from south, Prabhu Deva started focusing on Bollywood. He made his debut in Bollywood with Wanted. This movie having Salman Khan & Ayesha Takia in the lead roles is a remake of super hit telugu movie Pokiri starring Mahesh Babu & Ileana. The remake also got good response at the box office and the director Prabhu Deva could grab more and more opportunities for direction.

He went on to direct Rowdy Rathore with Akshay Kumar & Sonakshi Sinha. The original story of this Hindi remake is once again from Telugu and Raviteja starrer Vikramarkudu had Rajamouli as director in its original version in Telugu. This movie recorded one of the best collections in the career of Akshay Kumar.

Prabhu Deva’s next direction came for Ramayya Vastavayya. This movie having debuting Girish Kumar & Shruti Hasan in the lead roles is again a remake of Telugu super hit movie ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana starring Siddharth & Trisha in the lead roles. The remake received above average response at the box office.

R…Rajkumar is the only straight movie by Prabhu Deva as on date. This movie having Shahid Kapoor & Sonakshi Sinha also ensured record collections and became a super hit in the career of Shahid Kapoor & Sonakshi as well.

Presently Prabhu Deva is nearing completion of movies Action Jackson which is another remake from south. This remake with Ajay Devgn & Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles has Mahesh Babu & Samantha in the original version.

Prabhu Deva is scheduled to have his next release ‘Singh in Bling’ with Akshay Kumar & Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. As per the latest reports, the wonderful choreographer turned director is also likely to direct the remake of Magadheera (one of the blockbusters in Telugu). This Hindi remake will be having Shahid Kapoor in the lead role and Sajid Nadiadwala is going to be the producer. Prabhu Deva’s commitment is yet to be confirmed.

Despite his busy schedule as director, Prabhu Deva is still continuing his career as actor in many regional & Hindi movies as well.
