Sonakshi Sinha: Hide And Seek With Success

Sonakshi Sinha coming from the family of successful Bollywood star Shatrughan Sinha had initial successes. Of late she is in urgent need of hits.

Mumbai: Sonakshi Sinha is the daughter Bollywood star Shatrughan Sinha. Starting her professional career in as early 2005, she worked as fashion designer and also a model on ramp till her debut as female lead against Salman Khan in the movie Dabaang (2010). This film created sensation of collections at the box office and gave instant stardom to the female debutant.

Her grand success on debuting enabled her to get offers in 5 movies. She completed Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Oh My God (special appearance), Son of Sardar and Dabaang2 in the year 2012. All the movies (except Joker) proved grand success at box office. Rowdy Rathore against Akshay Kumar is a remake of Telugu super hit movie of Raviteja (Vikramarkudu) directed by SS Rajamouli . The original and Hindi remake proved to be huge success at the box office.

Special appearance of Sonakshi in OMG in Go Go Govinda song received special appreciation as also the film making good at the box office. She increased her popularity in 2012 when Dabaang2 (once against Salman Khan) proved to be a big hit at box office.

Son of Sardar is again a remake of successful Telugu movie Maryada Ramanna with Sunil & Saloni in the lead roles. This original movie incidentally is from SS Rajamouli. Hindi remake also made good at the box office.

2013 could not give better results for Sonakshi.

• Himmatwala received failure talk at the box office (she had special appearance in one song).
• Lootera with Ranvir Singh received average talk.
• Once Upon A time In Mumbai Dobaara with Akshay Kumar is again an average movie without adding weight to Sonakshi’s career.
• Boss with Akshay Kumar once again also received average talk at the box office.
• Bullet Raja against Saif Ali Khan also proved to be a failure at the box office.
• R…Rajkumar with Shahdi Kapoor also received average talk at the box office.

2014 started good for Sonakshi Sinha. Her ‘Holiday’ with Akshay Kumar received super hit talk at the box office. This is once again a remake of Tamil movie (Tupaki) from AR Murugadas. The Hindi version collected Rs.125 cores against a budget of Rs.40 crores.

It seems Sonakshi learnt from her past mistakes and rectified her career. Enjoying success with ‘Holiday’ she is presently doing films like Action Jackson (directorial venture of Prabhu Deva one of the successful directors from south in Bolllywood), Tevar (a remake of Mahesh Babu’s super hit movie Okkadu) & Lingaa (opposite south superstar Rajnikant with K S Ravikumar as director).
