Mahindra to launch Centuro Rockstar for Rs. 44.7K – Tackled Bajaj Discover 100M, Honda Dream Neo and Hero Splendor

Mahindra has brought forward a brand new edition of the Centuro commuter bike in order to attract major market share in the commuter segment of the Indian two wheeler market. The new Rock Star variant of the Centuro commuter will be available for sale in Gujarat, Haryana and Rajasthan only. The new variant comes up with almost similar features but few technical features will be removed in order to pull the price tag down.

Rock star version Centuro gets new body decals which will differentiate it from the other variants of the model and they also provide a fresh look. The bike gets LED pilot lamps and a set of LED tail lamps on the rear. Flip key will continued to be on offer but several features such as LED torch, anti theft alarm, find me lamps and guide me lamps will be absent in the Rock star variant. The digital console will be replaced with an ordinary one and thus the ‘distance to empty’ function will not be present.

The manufacturer powered the Rock Star edition Centuro commuter bike with the same 106.7 CC single cylinder four stroke air cooled MCi – 5 engine that is capable of generating around 8.38 bhp power at the peak along with 8.5 Nm of torque. Engine comes mated with a 4 speed manual gear box by default and there would be no change in the performance of the bike at all. 5 step adjustable shock absorbers will be equipped on the rear and the front suspension is taken care by telescopic hydraulic forks.

Mahindra is offering the brand new Rock Star variant of Centuro commuter bike for just Rs. 44710 only whereas the mid level variant Centuro N1 is being sold for Rs. 47516 and the higher end variant Centuro O1 is being sold for Rs. 50310 respectively. However, the lower price tag will help Centuro in tackling rival models such as Hero Splendor and Passion.
